Our Mission
Through lively debates covering a range of topics, the club aims to foster an environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, empathy, and open-mindedness. Members will benefit from skill development in critical analysis, research, and public speaking, while also enjoying networking opportunities and the chance to represent the university in intercollegiate debates and more. The club will host guest speakers, interactive sessions, and thorough community engagement.
Who We Are
Established in the fall of 2023, the Syracuse University Debate Club is a student-run organization.
We welcome anyone interested in competitive debate. Our team is committed to being a community of equal access, free of discrimination, prejudice, or bias.
Community/Values
Here at DCSU we value diversity of opinions, free speech and analytical skills. Emphasis on developing well-researched, logical arguments and rebuttals. DCSU encourages Respectful Discourse by fostering an environment where members engage in respectful and constructive dialogue.
